Cargo Services (SIMEC Ryans) Ltd
Cargo Services (SIMEC Ryans) Ltd comprises two subsidiary companies :-
Ryan Transport Ltd
Ryan Transport was acquired from the Ryan Mining Group in a management buyout in 1995.
It has its headquarters based in Newport and also has a branch in the West Midlands at Bewdley in Worcestershire. Ryan Transport distributes to destinations all over the UK as well as Northern and Southern Ireland.
Although its main focus today is on the distribution of all types of steel products, it still has a very important bulk haulage arm which handles around 1.5 million tonnes each year and is mainly engaged in carrying aggregates, coal based products, glass cullet and recycled metals.
It has an extensive fleet of 22 tractors and 28 trailers which include traditional flat beds; extenders for carrying long length steel products which are equipped with integral side support stanchions; coil and flat bed carriers - some up to 60 tonne capacity for specialised site work, as well as bulk tippers and heavy duty dump trucks.
Ryan Transport also has a strong support base of long standing sub-contractors who have been associated with the company for several years and are readily on hand to assist in peak periods.
Ryan Transport has its own fully equipped Garage and Workshop where its team of engineers carry out in house repairs and regular routine maintenance on all its vehicles to ensure they are fully compliant with Ministry of Transport regulations.
Ryan Transport is a member of the Road Haulage Association (RHA) and takes great pride in running its fleet to very high standards, as can be witnessed by its renowned eye catching Blue & Red livery traveling on the UK road network.
